Our Kids Campaign
The Our Kids Campaign is a simple one. We want to raise awareness about the issue of drivers speeding through neighborhoods and near school routes in an effort to help folks remember to slow down and don't speed. This is a very important issue for each of us, whether you are the parent, a pedestrian, a driver, or a neighbor, we are all impacted by the dangers associated with excessive speeding and careless or distracted driving, especial around schools and in neighborhoods.
The first phase of our campaign is to simply raise awareness of this issue, while providing Wheat Ridge residents with an Our Kids Yard sign to help share the message of slowing down and not speeding through our neighborhoods. You can order a free yard sign today, signs will be made available shortly after you order it.
The second phase of this campaign will be to target and address specific areas within the city where the presence of persistent speeders and other potential pedestrian hazard exists. This is accomplished by encouraging residents to engage the City of Wheat Ridge's Neighborhood Traffic Management Program to take additonal steps to identify and reduce the impact from presistent problem areas within the City of Wheat Ridge. This specific campaign is only accomplished by our community coming together. We strive to harness the power of our community coming together to help relay this important message to our fellow residents. Stay tuned for more details.
